Hello friends!
I'm starting a new topic "Speak Russian as a native". Do you want to improve your spoken Russian? If so, then this topic will be just for you.
Let's begin with phrase #1.... By the way, do you know how to put it in Russian? 🙂
to begin <learning smth, teaching smb> from basics, from zero, from the beginning.
In Russian it will be " начинать < изучать что-либо, обучать кого-либо >с азов [ s azóv] *from basics*,
с нуля [ s nul'á] *from zero*, с самого начала *from the beginning*.
Don't worry ! All these phrases are synonymous.
For example,
How to say in Russian ¨ We start learning Russian from the beginning"?
- Мы начинаем учить русский язык с самого начала. The grammar is correct, but Russians usually don't say like that.
- Мы начинаем учить русский язык с азов. !
- Мы начинаем учить русский язык с нуля. !
The last two phrases sound more natural.
Have fun с нуля!
